Our sun-dyeing process using cyanotype is a true labor of love—it’s a time-intensive process that requires patience and precision. But the results are worth it! The process, called cyanotype, is an old form of photographic exposure that produces amazing results. We use a 2-part mineral solution that is painted onto the fabric and left to dry in the dark. Once the fabric is completely dry, it’s exposed to sunlight, with the plants on top and let the UV light so the work. When the garment is washed, the print is left behind resulting in a stunning and all-natural design. Our process is non-toxic and environmentally friendly, making it a great alternative to traditional dyes.
